My strategy is to wear an anti-bug base layer that is light and will allow me to stay cool on the warmer hunting days and then wear the bug suit as a top layer. There are numerous treatments that can be applied to the outer layers to make you even less likely to have insect issues, but with the right bug suit you shouldn’t have any problems.
